I am Cynthia Chase and I am excited to represent our community.

As a local non-profit leader, every day I apply the following philosophy: help people learn to live within their means and take personal responsibility, value what you have, share resources and commit to positively impacting our community. I’m seeking your vote so I can bring this same philosophy to the city council. I will apply my collaborative approach and focus on pragmatic solutions to the challenges of public safety, environmental sustainability, responsible economic development and affordable housing.

"Cynthia Chase is committed to the effort to keep our beaches, ocean and waterways safe and clean, and I strongly support her. " - Dan Haifley, environmental activist

I place a high value on public service and giving back. I serve on the Parks and Recreation Commission and am a UCSC graduate, therapist, university instructor, and former probation officer. As current director of Gemma, which works to transition people back to the community after incarceration, my leadership has resulted in major reductions in recidivism and Gemma’s reputation as an effective program that increases public safety and improves lives.

Economic recovery is gaining momentum. But we continue to face serious issues, including community safety, environmental sustainability, responsible development and affordable housing. I’m committed to working hard to develop and implement solutions that truly make a difference in our neighborhoods and create a bright future for Santa Cruz.
